Greetings Coldwater!
We are excited to bring our brand and style of DRAFT league to Coldwater, but we recognize that the way we do things is a little different. Signups are lagging behind where we need them to be, and locals have been curious but hesitant to give it a shot. No worries - we have a plan for that.
In order to execute on those plans, we will be delaying the start of the league from May 21 until June 4. However, you will still be playing softball on May 21 and May 28. Read below!
INTRODUCING OPEN PLAY & THE MICRO-LEAGUE
Many players who have signed up and reached out to us have expressed a desire to practice and knock the rust off. Additionally, some have simply inquired about who we are. So we will be killing two birds with one stone with Open Play Nights where you can come out, play some casual and friendly ball, and meet Commissioner Khelley Adams and learn more about the league.
We are then going to adjust the length of the season from 8 weeks down to 5 weeks for a Micro League. You will still play two games per night and still receive jerseys, but there will be four weeks of total play followed by a Playoff Tournament in Week 5. The price for this Micro League will be reduced from $95 to $45.
Those who are a little hesitant to commit to a full season will get the chance to see the Draft style at work for a reduced price. Once our Micro League ends, we will kick off a full 8-week season as before.
How Open Play Works
Our Open Play is a free add-on week where players can come out in a casual, friendly environment. Depending on the number of participants, we will either break up into pick-up games or use the fields for basic hitting and fielding drills to get everyone warmed up. If you are uncertain about committing to the full season of play, or new to softball/haven’t played in a while, join us for Open Play and get a sense of the league (and your own skill level) before the draft!

The League Joe Draft Party
On May 28, we will bring our coaches together to draft the teams LIVE in front of any players who want to come out. Come enjoy a social beverage or two and wait to hear your name called and placed up on the draft board! Once the draft is over, we will break into groups and get a practice game on the field for anyone in attendance.

You will be receiving a partial refund within the next few days to bring you to the new price level. Your refund will go directly to the payment method we have on file.
