Thank you for everyone who has signed up for the St. James league! When we announced, we received a very positive reception, but sign ups have been slower than expected. It seems many in the area are simply uncertain about the draft format, but we're committed to bringing it to town. So.... here's the gameplan!
Tomorrow Night is Now Free Draft Tournament!
Friday Night Lights will not only invite everyone on this league to play, but anyone in town to play for free. We will do the draft LIVE at the park from 5:30-6:30, with play beginning at 6:30pm. Our hope is this gives people a chance to try the format, so they sign up for the league!
What About the League?
We do not currently have enough players to run a league, however we are close. If this tournament tomorrow drives in enough new registrations, we will begin the league next week and play our promised 8 weeks. If not, then we will be forced to cancel and will refund your registration fee. But at least we will have gotten a good night of ball in!
How Does the Tournament Work?
Much like the league, all players will be drafted to teams and get a chance to play ball. More than anything, we want everyone to use this as an opportunity to knock the rust off, meet the other players, and have fun. You will play a minimum of three games (2 pool play games, then single elimination) and the winners will get the first ever St. James Championship pins!
