Turf Wars - Tues & Friday Update and FAQ

Posted 10-18-2026

Thank you for responding to our survey and for your interest in Turf Wars. The forecast looks GREAT for ball this week and we’re ready to play in two events - both Tuesday and Friday! Initial team assignments for Tuesday will occur on Monday and there is plenty of time to sign up for Friday.

Based on survey results, here are some FAQs about how the event will work and how to maximize your participation.

What are Houses?

All teams are associated with Houses which in this case represent North vs South Indy. If you have played in leagues above I-70, you’re from the North and if you played below I-70, you’re from the South. Players who have done both and claim no allegiance are Mercenaries and may be placed on either squad depending on who needs extra players.

How Does the Event Work?

A Scramble is a social format where players are shuffled around the fields and are on a new team for each timeslot. It’s fast and fluid action combined with social networking fun. Meet new players, be ready to be flexible, and move quickly! All games count towards the overall House scoreboard and we will crown an overall winner based on all game results in total.

Is it Tuesday or Friday?

Tuesday and Friday are both happening, and are independent events. If you signed up before our Friday announcement, you are automatically locked in to Tuesday unless you visit the page and switch your registration. If you want to add Friday, you can purchase an additional day pass to join the Friday action. Additionally, save your Gate Fee pass from Tuesday as it will get you entry on Friday as well.

When Do Run it Back Teams Play?

All Run It Back teams that were scheduled to play on Tuesday will still play one game together on Tuesday. If those same RIB teams want to join Friday as well, they can play both! Depending on RIB team sign ups, Friday will feature a Gauntlet style tournament where teams will stay together longer.

Why not announce Friday before now?

The fields were not available until a cancellation opened them late last week. We know it is last minute, but we don’t want to waste this sunshine while we still have it!

Will there be a pie / prize ceremony on Tuesday?

Yes! There will still be fun to be had on Tuesday as we have a “Half Time” celebration planned. Scores from Tuesday will carry into Friday!

Who is eligible for Run-it-Back?

Defending champion squads from within the last year. When those teams cannot attend, we sometimes combine squads or look at 2nd place teams.

I’ve Never Done This Before….

Don’t sweat it and welcome aboard. This is a fun event to help us end the playing season with a bang! Once teams are finalized, just visit your schedule to find your field assignments and get ready to play.
