Rules Summary

These are the most common and/or most unique rules being used for this event. Please see "Official Rulebook" for exhaustive list of playing rules. When in conflict, rules written here shall supercede those in the official rulebook.

As a player, you are responsible for knowing all official rules of the game. By participating in the league, you are agreeing that you are aware of all rules associated with the league and the sport, and agree to abide by them at all times.

Silly, Social Networking with a Hint of Athletic Prowess

Adult Field Day is all about having the chance to be a kid again while meeting new people around the city. It is open to any and all participants ages 18 and above. You may sign up as an individual, couple, or a full team of four!

Individual

You will be matched with another individual to form a team of two.

Couple

You will meet other random couples throughout the day to form teams of four.

Teams of Four

You're set! Compete against other random teams of four and pick your team theme!

Rules

Each game has a unique format with basic scoring to allow for teams to report their progress to the central scorekeeper. While certain games are curated and scheduled, most games can be completed in any order at your own convenient schedule.

Golden Rule

The rules are here to guide your experience, not to be analyzed to death. This event is supposed to be fun - so don't think things too seriously and keep it that way! If you have a complaint about the rules, please see our Head Referree to submit your complaint.

Event Scoring / Format

With the exception of our curated events, all events are scored by the participants and scorecards are submitted with both team captains signing the scorecard. All submitted scorecards must have a unique combination of teams to be valid! For example, Team A can play Team B and submit a scorecard, but must find a new team for their next scored competition.

Unique Rules for Each Game

Hungry Hippos

  • Teams per Match: 4

Each team selects one competitor to play. Balls are reset into the middle, and play starts on the whistle. Players have 60 seconds to collect as many of their balls as possible, and play ends as soon as one team has collected all of their balls. Final score is the total number of balls remaining times -1. Highest score wins.

Obstacle Course

  • Teams per Match: 2

Two players from each team enter the course and position in the middle. Play starts with each team putting two players at the start line with the baton. Race starts on "GO" with a neutral third party timing the race. Players must race to the middle of the track and pass the baton to their teammate, who completes that leg of the race. They exit and run around the course to pass the baton to player 3, who then enters to find and hand the baton to player 4. The timer stops when Player 4 hands the baton to Player 1 at the start of the race.
