Thank you to everyone who attended last week's Turf Wars.  This was a new concept for play and from what we've seen, it was highly successful.  We loved seeing so many faces of people who haven't played in a long time, mixed with people we see every week, and the condensed format was hectic but fun.  If you didn't stay until the end, the results are below.  But first - please help us by completing this quick survey about the format.  This will help us learn what you liked, what you didn't, and enable us to do similar, fun pop up events more often in the future.

And the winner is....

The scoring system for Turf Wars was simple - we are looking for which park had the best overall represented Run Differential based on their matchups for the evening. Our most competitive matchups were more valuable, however, and counted as double on the standings.

The players from Midwest came out to play and won the first three overall timeslots 5 games to 4, with a substantial run differential lead built in their victories.

ISP Competitive Might Shows Up Late
But those competitive games between our Men's and Women's Squads and the former championship teams mattered quite a bit. While the parks split the gender matchups with Midwest taking Men's and ISP taking Women's, it was ultimately the ISP Run-it-Back Championship squads that completed the comeback for Indy Sports Park.

When we make our events, we want to make sure everyone has fun, and everyone has a chance to win. To have 14 total games end up with a run differential of 1 freakin' run is phenomenal, and players from both teams should be proud. Although at the end of the day, there can be only one pie.... and.... well.... Smitty wears it well, at least.

Having Trouble Finding Your Games

Come visit the League Joe tent over by Field 3. We'll get you straight!

We are still working on finalizing team rosters due to some technical issues that unfortunately slowed us down. We do expect them to be done within the next hour or two. In the meantime, we have posted 6:30 team rosters so players know to get there early if they need to. You can click on the rosters below to see if you play at 6:30.

If you do not see your name in those rosters, assume your first game will be at 7:30 or 8:30 tonight and the final rosters will be finished as soon as possible.

Go to the website and login, and visit the Turf Wars page. Your teams will be listed at the top next to your player information.

As mentioned above, we are making final roster placements and adding additional timeslots so everyone can get more games in. The 6:30 games are locked, but you may find yourself on a new team or two before this process completes. So please check again before you come to the park to see your final teams list.

Gotta love some unscheduled Spring weather, eh?  Tomorrow looks awesome for a fun end to the season and we look forward to seeing everyone.  This is an unusual format, so we're going to give you the basics of what to expect as we do our draft tonight.

Coaches Are Drafting Tonight

All coaches will be drafting the initial teams tonight, selecting 9 players for the various squads that will play. If you are 100% in, please complete your registration payment this evening to guarantee maximum team placements.

You Will Be Drafted to Multiple Teams

This is not a tournament format where you are placed on a team and play with that squad all night. Instead, you're going to be playing with new faces each game of the evening. Your team assignment will show multiple squads and the timeslots you're assigned.

Specialty Games

We will have our special Run it Back rosters which will feature the original players from those teams, with a couple of subs as needed. We also are going to have a Women's Matchup at 7:30pm and a Men's Matchup at 7:30pm. Both will be balanced as per our standards, but we expect the intensity level of those will be a little more amped so we are seeking volunteers who want to play that style. If you prefer a more casual style, the other 7:30 game will feature players on the more beer-heavy side of the scale! Only Want One or Two Games? Let Us Know

A couple of players have expressed they really only want to play one or two games, and that's totally ok with us! Plenty of players will want as many games as they can squeeze in, so if you want to opt for *less* games, use the same form.

Door Prizes - Keep Your Ticket

We will have a number of door prizes including hats, swag, and more. Keep your Gate Fee ticket, as prizes will be drawn at the end of the evening.
